Congratulations to track signees Hali Henderson and Angela Thomas, who won state track crowns in the women's pole vault and women's triple. Also, congrats to FB signee Lee Grimes on his win in the 4A shot put. Arkeith Brown was fourth in the 4A high jump and triple jump and third with the El Campo 4x2. It was a good day for a bunch of future Aggies.

It should be noted that Hali Henderson's older brother, Zac, was fourth in the jav at the Big 12 Outdoor at KSU on Friday.

You missed Trinity Otto from my alma mater (Class 1A State Champs - Lindsay). He was on both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 winning relays, as well as, placing second in the 200m and high jump. He is going to compete in the decathalon.

I'm glad we're bringing in only the very best 1A track stars....

Aston-Why hate on a 1A track athlete. I thought the competition in track was the stop watch. Are you going to race him? I think if he was recruited as a scholarship track athlete he must have some speed and talent. Do you have some insite the coaches don't?

The key word in this conversation is decathlete...he's not competing in one event, he's competing in 10...

yeah, he has 6 others to work on...

I always associate the 1st place high school(the best overall in any class) times/heights/lengths to what a champion decathalete gets in all of his 10 events... seems to hold true more often than not.

This kid apparently played both ways on the line in HS, meaning he ought to be a decent size individual (meaning his throws should be good)...nice to see all his state performances came in running and jumping events.

On the APSE All-State team, Otto is listed as a receiver on offense and defensive back on defense. Also lists his ht/wt as 6-1, 205 for what that's worth.

The A&M coaches (both new and old staffs) have been looking at him for a while. He turned down other scholarships and is coming to A&M because his girlfriend is there (and he loves the school). He supposedly is pretty good at all the events except for polevault.
