Can't think of a more out of place announcer at a sporting event.

But it was still nice to hear "You are looking live at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway" to open the show.

She drove pretty well today, but she got really, really lucky. There are more than a few drivers out there cussin' her... her mistakes cost some other people pretty bad.

Wow, she is a rookie you moron. I'm not sure, I'm just guessing, but do you think there was ever a day where Mario Andretti had not won jack???? And I don't think the IRL or her team for that matter, would put her behind the wheel with all of the money that goes into those teams without her having a little more talent than just being a "marketing ploy". Oh, and I think she proved on the track that your observation was false and she has plenty of talent for her young career.

Brent Moosefurburger is such an intolerable suck ass. I have hated his guts ever since he attached himself to Tim Brown's left front nut before the Notre Dame-A&M Cotton Bowl.

Poor Brent didn't have anything left to say after Tim boy got ejected early in the game for blindsiding a 12th Man kick off team member who stole Browns precious towlie after he was gang tackled on a kickoff and the A&M walkon was running back toward the Aggie bench waving it in victory.

The 12th Man team member (I am sure somebody has his name) had this great quote-"5 more yards and I woulda made it." (the sidelines)

I wouldn't piss in Brent's mouth if his teeth were on fire.

Moron huh? Look in the record books. How many rookies are called sensations 5 races into their IRL life. Before I would call her a superstar or a sensation, I would let her run a full series.

I guarentee you I know more about IRL/racing than you do. She did cost 3-4 cars of good finishes by her actions on that restart.

Ok Mr. IRL expert who knows more than anyone. Can you please tell me where I can pick up one of these record books where they call rookie drivers sensations? I didn't know they kept records for that. And since you know more than me, how come you didn't know she was more than a marketing ploy, or how she's not the first driver ever to take out other cars during a race, which she was "woman" enough to admit she made mistakes in that race. And yes you are a moron for not coming on here and admitting your pre-race assumption didn't hold water because everyone else on here saw the chick has talent. Carry on.

Sounds like someone has a problem with a woman being a better driver than he would be.

Can anybody explain to me why Brent the Bold is still on the air and gets all the plum assignments?

When he first showed up I enjoyed him because he was so enthusiastic and seemed to have a considerable amount of inside information. After a while he did not seem to do his homework as well anymore and his boosterism started driving me nuts.

Now I can't stand him when he is boosting a team I like.

I have not heard anybody say a nice word about him in years and he regularly gets trashed on every message board I look at.

So what's the deal? Anybody have any thoughts?

I'd like to know that myself, as well as why Bill Walton is still allowed to spew forth his clever commentary.

Well to clear up the original thread title, Brent only did the pre-race announcing. He was not part of the actual racecast.

I'd like to throw in that even though she's not ONLY a marketing ploy I was mildly upset when they showed her last few laps and weren't even paying attention to the race for the lead until turn 4 of the final lap.

this i totally agree with. it sucks because i think she's a great driver, but networks have to continue to ram it down our throats. Look...I already appreciate her talent, treat her like another racer. Deep down, that's how she wants to be treated as well.

And that chick is absolutely effin' hot.

Not sure you can blame her on the wreck at the restart. The car in front of her slowed coming out of the corner and she was on the gas and had to go high to avoid him. Wrecks are a part of racing and she did a good job of staying off the wall and her crew kept her in it replacing the front nose cone. Great race it just sucked she had to run lean or I think she wins it.
