Disappointments continue.

Playing Missouri to four very close games is not a disappointment this year. Missouri hired - er I mean recruited - four players from China who are in their early 20s and already have considerable experience with the Chinese youth national team. Women's volleyball is a bigger deal in China than here, with professional leagues and a national program that HEAVILY rewards players (and the families of players) who bring home gold medals. And of course the training/conditioning is more intense than most stateside programs.

So yes, it's disappointing to get that "L", but Missouri is expected to stay in the top 10 all year (at least until they get spanked and sent to bed by the Huskers); the closeness of the match is an excellent indication of the strength of the Aggie program: taking raw local talent and turning it into a solid top-15 team year in year out.

I agree with you to an extent. Obviously Mizzou is a very good team, and it's great to see that we are able to hang with them. But I'm still very disappointed in the way that we played. We didn't come close to playing our best. Had we been on our game, we probably could have pulled out a huge win. Unfortunately that didn't happen and more than likely we have to go to Neb and start conference 0-3.

We aren't too good.

Redass, I didn't see the match and it's often difficult to tell from the stats (since passing is the most important skill and there's no accepted measure for "passer efficiency" ) how well a team played. But the game scores were close enough that the match obviously wasn't unwinnable, so hopefully we'll catch them off guard next time. I'll be watching the match vs. Nebraska on CSTV wednesday night. Nobody expects us to do what several other top10 programs have been unable to do so far - beat the Huskers - but if the scores were as close as our scores against Missouri, I'd consider that a GREAT showing.

We made lots of mistakes, bunch of off serves and other stupid stuff we don't usually do.

The refs giving them the winning point in two games really pissed me off.

It's cold, dark and lonely in the Big 12 cellar.

#10 for Mizzou was the biggest reason why we lost, our girls could block everybody else's spikes except hers-- but I think it was a good showing that we were the first team to take a game from them (not even 2 different ranked #9 teams could do that against Mizzou this year)

The Aggies need another big hitter to complement Jones. I was surprised that Hahn didn't play more. She usually plays strong.

Passing wasn't great. Missouri's defensive specialist was limping and still played an incredible game. And the Aggies seem to have a knack of hitting a players instead of at space. Missouri seemed particularly good and finding and exploiting gaps.
