has anyone seen Penn State play this year? i know they were ranked #1, and are now #3, but how do we stack up to them?

SMU is 16-3-1 & won ther last 9 games -- they've been in the Ncca tournement 3 of the last 4 years --- we knocked 'em out 2 of those years --- going for 3 :~).

Defense looses concentration. SMU player heads one home to cut it to 4-2 with 1 min. to go.

The AUA freebie runs out with 10 seconds to go.

Thanks for all the up dates folks -- I assume Penn State won & we play them up there next weekend ?

Yes, Penn State won 5-2.

It will be very difficult for this team to beat Penn State on the road next week. Our defense just isn't good enough in the air to stop their offensive players from heading two or three shots past Spisak. We will probably have to score about 4 goals to win. That's not realistic against them on the road. But it's been a good season. Next year we should be scary good.

It was a fun game to watch- SMU's last goal was kind of given to them- KJ just watched go to the left of her- she didnt even move to stop it

why a defeatist? just giving their opinion... and it seems logical that we would be an underdog, on the road and against a #1 seed.

i follow our soccer team, but wouldn't know the ins and outs to that level of detail. appreciate some realism amongst aggies. it is not an endearing quality though as seen here or on the football board.

i'm sure the 'defeatist' poster wants us to win... as do i.

ya probability dictates that we wont go to penn state and come out of their place with a victory... however if the stars align we certainly have the talent to bring home the W. penn state is missing their second leading scorer (tied with another girl with 7 goals on the season) but theyre still very potent obviously as theyre the #1 team in the nation.

hopefully we dont do what we did two years ago and go to penn state and lay a goose egg and lose 3-0. however we are a very much improved team talent wise from what we were back then and i expect us to make a better showing. not a dissapointing season even if we lose considering we brought home both conference crowns this year again but im ready to get back to the elite 8 and beyond!

you can't compare this team to the team two years ago. the offense production on this team is much higher, the ability to create chances and finish has steadily increased throughout the season. this is by far the best chance we've had since i've started following soccer at A&M four years ago. we're peaking at the right time, and combine that with a bench where talent doesn't drop... for instance our third leading scorer has only started 6 games... there aren't many teams who can say that.

we have a chance against penn state. it will be the hardest game we've played all year by far, and if we win we'll have to follow that up with probably santa clara just to get back home to the college cup. the road is long, but we can't become champs without playing the best. i say bring it on!

Definitely a defeatist. By his logic, we might as well call it a season, not go, and save the travel costs.

NCAA covers most of the travel costs...i say we go ahead and gave it a try

That came after winning the Big12 Regular Season and Tournament Chamionships, not after a barely winning season and a horrible loss in a bowl game.
