Check that...he's not hes.

This guy did a WC diary for 2002 that was pretty funny. Apparently, it's an Englishman who produced "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", loves England and supports the US strongly as well. He has a page 2 article covering the draw that provided me with a new sig.

"The rest of the world will be rooting for the U.S. to fall flat on its face. Tell your soccer-hating friends that if they couldn't care less about how the U.S. does in these games, they are right in line with the French."

Do you happen to know if there is a link to his 2002 diary anywhere?

I seem to recall his diary from 2002. Didn't know who he was. It was witty stuff. No idea where it is on web though.

But they won't. Deep down, with Leite Adriano, Kaka, Ronaldo, Christiano Ronaldo and Robinho it has to be Brazil

Someone didn't copy edit this one too closely...

I liked his entries after the England/Argentina game, US/Poland, and US/Mexico games the most. Some of the entries aren't great, but if you're bored and have an hour to kill, it's a good read.

It's a soccer story, no one at ESPN cares enough to copyedit it.

But considering the facts that:
a) the name is misspelled
b) the player named doesn't even play for the team implied

Somebody goofed. And you are right, soccer articles probably gets a once over for readability and foul language and that's it.

I agree, it was a ridonkulous oversight, especially for a soccer nut from England who (ostensibly) hates ManU, you'd think he'd know a little more about their roster.

Dude's a huge Chelsea fan (even before Roman) so I'm sure he hates ManU. Can't believe that they didn't catch that. I'm sure he knows better, just a screwup,.
