It was leaked to BigSoccer. Someone found it on the MLS website by changing the image name in the same directory where they keep all the other team logos. I think mlsnet has taken it down now. I'll do the same, if it's a big deal to you guys.

By the way, I like it. That and "Generals" were the only finalist names that I thought were anywhere near appropriate.

I am keeping mum. you can leave it if you want to. I am just not confirming if it is correct. although Houston was founded in 1836 by the allen brothers.

your guess would be right. Adidas sent us three kits but they forgot to screen print them. so we left them out of the presentation. you will see them soon. I got to talk to Pat Onsted and Wade about thoughts on Houston...they said they are loving the city and are thinking they can bring a championship here in year one.

Not that anyone cares what I think, and as much as I hate to advocate the use of more orange in sports--Since orange is a primary color for the team, I think it makes sense to make at least one of the kits solid orange, a la the Dutch. It's one of the most distinctive kits out there. Yeah, you're blatantly ripping off the Netherlands, but I don't think that's a major concern for MLS right now.


Maybe combine with white shorts and orange socks.

Maybe someone can photoshop an 1836 on that.

I went to the MLS website and it said that the t-shirts would ship in 2-3 weeks. Does Academy have one available now? If so, I'll be there tomorrow.

The Holland jersey is one of the only designs I can think of that would be decent with these colors. I'm also sort of hoping that they would do a Boca Juniors sort of thing with most of the jersey being blue with an orange stripe. Other than that I think there's a lot of ways they could make this jersey one of the ugliest in MLS history.

there are 8 academy's in town that have shirts now. I am not sure how many I have left. I might be able to swing some of you soccr fans a shirt.

there were two kits that I saw. the blue (like old oiler blue), and black. they sent orange shorts. this is NOT the kit combination. that is still being decided.

I really like this name. Out of all the names on that list of 13, it's by far the most traditional soccer name. I heard a few people call into 610AM this morning and say they were big soccer fans and hated the name because it was just a number and didn't mean anything; it was obvious they didn't know much about the Euro teams that have numbers/years in their names. I love the slogan, too: "It's About Time." Nice.

Is the kit going to be adidas? If so, then the Avantis style jersey wouldn't be bad, with white trim. Go with black shorts and blue sock.

Chelsea switches to adidas in the fall, and I keep wondering what their kit will look like, too.

Adidas is a league sponsor...so yes all the teams will be head to toe adidas. I should know better what the final kit will look like in the coming week.
