I was just checking the schedule and saw the Men's tennis match with Pepperdine for Saturday is not on the schedule. I believe they were coming to play the horns also. Cancelled? re-scheduled? I was looking forward to the first home match, guess it will be March 9.

Coach cass is protecting his squad by scheduling easier matches like Nicholls state, PV and Wichita state in order to stay in the top 25. There is bad weather this weekend in the area so pepperdine doesnt waste a trip to texas

Pepperdine was moved back to April 15, I believe. Weather related.

I am boggled that someone would act like we are playing an easy schedule. Have you seen our schedule?

I understand that in tennis, there isn't a max number of matches. Just a max number of playing dates. As such, nothing that has been added to the schedule has eliminated any of our previously scheduled matches. We now just have doubleheaders to get more experience and hopefully wins.

Delay makes sense when you look at the forecast for the weekend. Not exactly any indoor courts in Austin, the ones in Bryan are not that good either. Maybe someday Aggieland will have a good set of college level indoor courts.

Guess it will be Easter weekend in College Station, Texas Tech Friday and Pepperdine Saturday.

Please build the indoor courts...someone please. This is one occasion where horns and ags are on the same page. If either builds them the other will feel pressure todo the same and thus apply pressure. Neither school has ability to play a match indoors and thus the rescheduling. Hard to believe that in the entire city of Austin there are no indoor courts large enough to get this done. Cancelling matches due to weather is unacceptable. Build the courts!!!!!!!

This is a fortuitous turn of events. Also thumbs up to Cass for scheduling some cupcake double-headers. What this team needs right now is some W's and some confidence, not to get their butts handed to them (again). Pepperdine would have destroyed the Ags right now but it's a long time until April 15th and though I'm not saying we'll have any better chance against them then, we certainly can't have any worse chance. Some might criticize adding clearly scrub teams like Prarie View (they have tennis?) and some of the others he picked up, but let's face it, no one wants this team to have a sub .500 record. He clearly overestimated the ability of this year's team and the W-L record could have been pretty gruesome w/o these additions...and it's a long season, you never know what could happen. It's not as if there isn't any talent on this team -- Cass just needs to figure out a way to get his players back to playing to the best of their ability.
