i think something very traditional would be fantastic. im not the biggest fan of "Deportivo", but would like that better then some stupid nickname. Something similar to FC Dallas would be my preference, like Houston Athletic/Houston United/Real Houston, etc.

United(DC United), FC (FC Dallas), and Real (Real Salt Lake) have already been taken, so Houston taking either of those would be repetitive. AC Houston has a good ring to it, as does Sporting Houston. Houston 06 is alright, not my fave by any means.

I can't really think of any names that would make me say "Oh, that's awesome." But I don't think Dynamo is too bad.

Houston 1836 = me wanting to buy a personalized jersey and go games.


Houston Dynamo = me spending $0 on franchise.

But hey, at least one Hispanic politician woman got her way, I guess that's what sports is all about.

It's hard to call a city's sports franchise a joke when it has to compete with the Houston Oilers' legacy, but what a crappy way to start your team's existence.

And announcing it on the day the Alamo fell, well now you've insulted me as a Texan ... but I'm guessing that's not P.C. enough for anyone to care.
