Men got more favorable draw hosting Notre Dame, UTA, Brown. They have a good shot.

The men pulled the fat out of the fire with the 16 seed and hosting. The committee must have been impressed with the Baylor and Illinois wins, and the near misses against Texas and Pepperdine. Its been a long tough year, but maybe we can come out swinging in the tournament.

Agree, the men caught a break and the women kind of got shafted. That's the breaks. Hope they both can make strong showings.

BTW, Connor Pollock was chosen the Big 12 Freshman of the Year. The future is bright for this young man. Congrats.

In all seriousness though, given that the Ags are hosting a regional, it looks like they have good chances of going back to the Sweet 16 this year. It always helps when you host a regional,big 12 looks good this year!

I understand that Conor sprained his ankle in practice and is out for the remainder of the year. I have no direct knowledge of this fact, but if it is true, the other guys will really have to step up for us to get out of town to Stanford.

That will make the lineup interesting, means Dakki will play, somehwere I would guess. And it will present a challenge for the team, but they have stepped up to challenges this year, let's hope they got one more in them.

isal...the lady whorns going to tcu is not a favorable draw..tcu is very good their top 2 are both ranked top 25 including leimbach who won the all-american tourny and has been as high as #3 in the country..the #2 girl is ranked in top 25 and has won 19 matches in a row and their 3-4 have also been ranked in the top 100..tcu has 4 girls who have been ranked on the wta tour 4 of their losses including 4-3 to Baylor, Cal and Harvard (all 3 teams in top 20) they played without a starter..plus they have probably one of the top 3 best coaches in the country who won 7 national titles when he was the head coach at USC so I dont think that is a favorable draw..the men hosting ND is a very very favorable draw

The committee always seems to give the men the nod when we are on the hosting bubble. But then get a reality check once into the sweet 16.

Cory, compared to the Lady Ags draw, tu's draw is a favorbale one. Hmm, tcu or baylor?

If the report is true about Connor, that would be a blow.

well the texas women are ranked 18 so of course they are going to get a better draw and player lower ranked team than the ags who are ranked in the 30s....

Ags win 4 to 0 against UTA. Take on Notre Dame tomorrow at 4:00 pm at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

Ags will need a strong performance today to beat ND, esp if Pollock doesn't play again (I assume he won't be). Anyone have any update on Connor?

Conor has a high ankle sprain. His ankle is wrapped and he is using crutches at the present time. He is probably on the shelf for about six weeks.

Oh man, that's tough for Connor and the squad. Will require Dakki and others to really step up and show leadership today. Would love to see us make another Sweet 16, that would be an accomplishment for this squad and Coach Cass.

Ags take the doubles point with wins at #1,3. Great start but still have their work cut out for them without Connor. We need Jerry to win at #1 since the odds are stacked against us at #2.

NOT looking good for the Ags, lost 3 first sets rather quickly. Will take a valiant comeback.

Turn out the lights the party is over.

Lost 4-2(really 4-3 as we were up 6-4, 5-4 on remaining match), Needed a win from #3 or 4, surprised Bain got torched like he did.

No Sweet 16, unusual for us to end the season this early. Great effort from an undermanned squad. We will compete for the Big 12 crown next season.

Do you think that Cass and Kleinecke will keep their jobs? I say surely yes, because they've had so much success in the past and return virtually their entire teams next year.

Cass not keeping his job is as stupid as it gets.
He's taken Ags tennis to levels never obtained.
I think if he leaves it is for a better job.

Happily I think Tim is very happy at A&M. He is understandbly upset with the face of college tennis, as he tries to build his team with young men who are either Americans or coming out of high school from other countries. The playing field is far from level, but that is the real world we live in. (Insert criticism of Simo Daki). Happily there are a number of schools that are trying to do things the right way, and I have great admiration for those who are working hard to make American tennis a better thing and to give young American players the opportunity to play college tennis. Time will tell how this all works out, but Tim Cass, at least from my point of view, has the right perspective on the big picture.

I am off to Palo Alto this weekend for the sweet 16. It has been a couple of years for me however I am looking forward to watching some great tennis over a few days. There are some really exceptional teams up and down the lineup. Other than Georgia vs ND I can seen no gimme's. College tennis is so competitive there can be an upset seed at any level.

Your thoughts on the tournament?

Rik: Not directed at you at all. Good luck at Stanford. Tell Roger to get after it and I am pulling for him to have a great finish to his college career.

Raven...I will tell roger what you said. I was happy to see him get a ring after working hard for it over five years. He is the captian of the team and he keeps the guys in line and focused.
