Czech wins 1-0 on a Lokvenc goal in the 82'. Costa Rica held on ok, not much possession. This was basically a B side for the Czechs.

I guess you could say that. Its hard to qualify for many world cups when your country was formed during the 1994 WC. As Czechloslovakia they made it to a decent amount of WCs and won a EuroCup. Also, they played in EuroCup just two years ago which is the closest thing to playing in a WC. European sides usually have this advantage that every two years there is a major major tournament that they put forth full effort to win.
