Lets see is El Tri can continue on their run of unimpressive warmups. How many will Ruud get? And where does everyone think RVN will end up next season, most people guess Italy or Holland, but don't rule out the idiots at Real Madrid.

I say Holland by 3 but that's just my biased opinion. And who knows where RVN will end up. Maybe the Redbulls can throw an absurd amount of money his way and get him to the US...only in our dreams.

He would probably end up being the most dominant player in any league if that happened. It would be really fun to watch.

yes, because the US has been so impressive in the warm up games. Playing vs nobody.

Not to defend El Tri, but playing against France and Holland is a little different than playing Venezuela, Latvia, and Morocco.

Crap...I just defended them, didn't I.

yeah, and I agree with you Dre, would've liked to have seen some quality opponents but its hard if you're not willing to leave the US to play.

Game over 2-1. So that didn't answer the question, how many of the runup games have you watched? I'm Czech but pretty sure there are a hell of a lot more non-Czechs that have watched more of their runup games. Also, where did I say the US' runup games were impressive?

Don't pay any attention to Andy. He gets a little irrational when it comes to El Tri. He once accused me of harboring anger toward Mexicans when I mentioned that the Mexican futbol team practices poor sportsmanship.

I'd probably be upset if I were him, too, as Mexico fancies itself among the world's elite soccer powerhouses, yet is incapable of winning anything of consequence away from Mexico City.

the dutch side was a B side, only kromkamp and kuyt were actual starters...mexico subed out their starters at the begining of the second...nothing was setttled but the dutch are definitely a better team

Easy Andy...don't think he was trying to be accusatory. Save all of that aggression for the next time we beat you 2-0.

Yes, because there aren't any Mexican hot chicks................

By the way, I call BS on the accusation that I go nuts if somebody says something about Mexico. I think you have me confused with somebody else. I tend to be fairly level headed guy and try to be as realistic as possible. Sure there are times that I may say things in the heat of the battle, but who hasn't.

Now as far as your answer goes, I have watched every single game that Mexico has played.

About yesterday's game, Mexico obviously did not play it's typical game and was also trying out different things and players just like the Dutch, with the exception that two key players for them did not play.

Is Mexico better then Holland? Nope.

What I do hate is everybody calling the Dutch team their "B" team.............now that is BS.

Mexico took the opportunity to try several different players and set ups through out the game. They went from a 4-4-2, to a 3-5-2 to a 4-5-1, etc............during the game and also playing some of the players at front in different positions and with different responsabilities............so just like the Dutch were trying out things, etc.........so was Mexico. I would not worry too much about the results right now. I'll wait until the World Cup starts for that.

I sure hope that we don't play that type of soccer come the World Cup because we will get our butts kicked.

The other thing that worries me about the last couple of games was the lack of creativity up front and the lack of real scoring opportunities.
This may very well be just our HC trying out things because this is a very different Mexico from the one that played in the Gold Cup.

Now as far as the USA, I have always given props to the national team and what they have accomplished. Does it sometimes make me jealous of how far they have come and how hard it is for the Tri to beat these darn Americans.............sure, I would be lying to you if I said that it did not make me angry or jealous?! But I give props to them regardless.

Sorry it took me so long to asnwer, I have a really sh*ty class schedule this summer.

Agree with your comments, but that was definitely a B side for the Dutch.

Here are the starters that didn't run out:

Van der Sar
RVN
Cocu
Van Bommel
Van Brockhurst
Robben
van der Vaart

that's 7 of 11 players.
