ABC's coverage of the World Cup is embarrassing



Everything about ABC's broadcasts made me want to cringe. First and foremost, when you see Brent Musburger's grill come on to the set you know you are going to have a ****ty telecast. Alexi Lalas is ok and having Julie Foudy as a commentator is a complete and utter joke as stated on the other thread.

Dave O'Brien was absolutely atrocious today during the Iran-Mexico match. The guy had absolutely NOTHING to add except some completely out of line political comments. This is a sporting match. I am of Iranian heritage and there are close to a million of us in the US and I would be more than 90% of us were watching this match. An even greater percentage are here in the US because of the ****ing government of Iran. We are a proud people and our national soccer team is a source of pride to us. The last thing I wanted to hear was some sportscaster talk about Ahmadinejad.

If you looked at the team EVERYONE save Daei is clean shaven and but for the Iranian soccer federation badge on their chest they looked like any other team. This is not a bunch of Osamas running around. Most of these guys play in Europe and almost all of them are very Western leaning.

I am planning on writing letter to ABC to convey my displeasure regarding O'Brien. He made a horrible comment about what the Iranian players felt passing by Nuremberg Nazi site like our players in ANY way had anything to do with that or in any way support the Nazis or way of their thinking despite what ****ing Ahamdinejad might say.
