1st off, if we tie we are out no matter what correct? Ghana would be tied with us in points and they have a better goal differential.

2nd, Did we make the Czech's look a lot better than they really are?

If we tie we get 2 pts total, so we cannot advance. Must win.

USA played badly against Czech Republic, but early goal got USA out of its normal element anf allowed Czechs to sit back and counter. USA struggles when we have to break down a defense that is sitting back waiting.

Czechs are good, but are struggling now that both of their top scorers are out.

In the Ghana game you saw the difference Koller makes. Its easy to hold on to the ball when you can toss it up to him and let him fight everyone off.

Let's not forget that Ghana has their 2 best players out due to yellow cards. I think we beat Ghana 3-1 Thursday!

now ay we score three goals. we havent had one yet and according to everybody we out played italy but still never scored. lucky if we get a 1-0 result

I'm not sure if Wolf is on the squad, but I would have subbed him in late (<15 min) against Italy to see if he could have done anything. Every time I've seen that kid he does something.

Are you living in some kind of parallel universe where everything is the opposite of our reality? Wolff is perhaps the most notoriously underachieving forward in the history of United States soccer.

thats funny i do believe that a lot of people were saying that kind of stuff when dempsey went in against italy. now everybody wants him to start against ghana. how things can change in two games.

Saying what kind of stuff? I and everyone else I heard talking about agreed well before the Italy match that Dempsey would bring some much-needed creativity in the attack. He did that and played with a lot of confidence. So of course people think it's a good idea to start him.

Could you show me where people said Dempsey never does anything?

I wanted Dempsey on for Beasley from the start of game one. Beasley has been off form of late.

I am really confused about your posts.

Dempsey never played against CR. Against Italy, he was a starter, not a substitute.

I made a comment similar to the one you describe when Wolff came into the game against CR.

we have no choice but to make changes, whether we want to or not its not as though we have anyone who can replace the exact role that pablo plays...anyone we bring in will be more offensive minded or not as good defensively

I just thought our forwards looked ragged and that the Italian line would be ripe for some fresh legs. Wolff (or anyone with some legs), if nothing else, has speed. Maybe he could have gotten to a long ball. We sure has hell weren't going to build up to a goal with what we had out there.

Ghana did not lose their best 2 players. They lost 2 very good ones, but they are in no way their best.
