just kidding rik, thx for the heads up. Not too surprised, TAMUCC has been a stepping stone program, and he inherited the program from Steve Moore.

What's your opinion of him as a college coach, can he survive/flourish at the next level.

Just recieved additional confirmation. The next tennis coach at ATM is Steve Denton.

I went to school with him in the late 70s and have gotten to know him better as the coach of CC. No one knows more about tennis than Steve. He has the skins on the wall as a top professional.

ATM is going way aganist the grain on this hire. Steve played at Texas, was an all american at Texas and will now coach at ATM.

thx, rik, have heard good things about him from his predecessor at TAMUCC, but doesn't seem like a typical Byrne hire. He must have won Byrne over, and convinced him he could keep the Aggie program in the top echelon of college tennis.

Well at least we hope so. As I said, time will tell.
