I was at the practice last night, FCB is sick!! Shook Ronaldinho and Eto'o hand after. Ronnies legs are like freaking tree trunks.

the only studs that might not play is Carlos Puyol. He did not participate in the workout last night, he only ran laps.

Unbelieveable world class soccer by both sides, Barca in particular. The differeence between Barca/CA match vs. MLS match? MLS players argue every call, yellow cards are all over the place. Barca/CA players- very little disagreemnt with a call, players walk away after a call and get ready to play.

The noise level in Reliant was as loud as any NFL game there and I have been to at least 10 Texans game since they started a few years back.

Even though this was part of my Dynamo season ticket package, this was well worth the $$$.

come on now, you can't compare them lke that, the MLS players are playing a crucial game in the middle of their season, of course they're going to play harder leading to more cautions

Barca and America were playing a friendly, wholly meaningless match so you can't cite that as a difference and use it to bash ML soccer

I took him as saying that the game mattered more to those teams than CA/Barca game mattered to those teams. HOU and LA where playing a regular season game...always more important even if the league is inferior.

As far as the quality of play goes, you're not exactly reporting ground breaking information when you say Barcelona plays better soccer than MLS. Really? You mean Europe's best team with a storied history that spans decades plays better soccer than a league that has been around for 10 years? Who would have thunk it? That's like saying that the Pittsburgh Steelers play better football than the Frankfurt Galaxy (or whichever NFL Europe team you want to pick). I think both go in the category of "no kidding".

I am just getting into soccer, and this was the most fun I've ever had at a sporting event. The atmosphere for a preseason friendly half way across the world was incredible. I too love the attitudes of soccer players, very appreciative. I just wish soccer was as easy to follow here as other american sports. I'm debating on the 40 extra bucks a month to get the fox soccer channel back.

Samik...why not buy some Dynamo season tickets? you get the added benefit of friendlies like this, and I can promise you that next year the Dynamo will be playing their own set of friendlies with teams from Mexico and Europe.
