I saw that post too Spicewood...very curious...hope it rings true especially since:

They do have a pretty strong sr. class with 5-time big 12 breast champ Tinnon and Connie Brown who had a killer sectional meet in late July...she can do fly back and free and qualified for Olympic Trials in multiple events already...they have the two-time conf. champ in the 200 fly in sr. Katie Robinson...distance swimmer Stephanie Anderson and 200 IM conf. champ Elaine Ferritto are no joke either...their sr. class is definitely their best

I agree the Sr. class is Texas' best, but it doesn't look like a group that can make up for weaknesses in other areas. I keep mentioning freestyle, but the Ags should own the 50, 100, and 200. We'll be competitive in the 500. We'll dominate the free relays. We might win the 4x200 free by 8 seconds.

If Alia performs well - she could give Tinnon a race in the 100 breast too.

I think you're right about the freestyles...the Ags have a ridiculous number of girls that can go under 24 in the 50 and 1:50 in the 200 free

Looks like they have a stud distance/IM swimmer in Escobar...kind of odd that she's not listed on their roster...Brown and Tinnon look in tip-top shape too...Nobody even sniffing 23 secs in the 50 though

I talked with a guy today that went over to the Texas Women's intersquad, and he told me that the girls were hurting pretty bad after the first 100 in EVERY event.

Sounds good, we'll see this weekend how the Men's intersquad shapes up.

FYI: Sturdy did have surgery, and it's all good now. She's starting to look strong again, nice and smooth like she always swims.

Oh on another note, Today's issue of the Battalion had a picture of Kyle Holland Sophomore on the Men's Team on the front page.

Kyle decided during the rain delay to just go ahead and start leading a Yell Practice. Along with Erin Briskie, Britney Pesek, and Ewelina Zwierzykowski they led the student side in yells, for over an hour.

It was definitely something special.

Not sure we should read too much into an intrasquad meet. Had they already swum 10,000 yds. that day?

I wasn't impressed with their 100 IM times. I can swim a 1:02 and I'm an old man (47).

The person I talked to said that going into the last 50 of every 150, they fell off, pretty dramatically.

From what i heard is that it was their only practice that day, and they only did a 3k warm up.

Hey Jedi - any word on how the new women's assistant coach, Tracy Duchac is doing?

She is doing really good. The girls respect her, and admire her. I can see her eventually becoming an extremely valuable asset to the program.

I think that she is going to add alot to the program, this next week at BIG 12 Relays will be fun to see how everyone does.

From the new freshmen girls (who posted some impressive times at their intersquad) to the freshemen men, who themselves are shaping up.
