I'm not much of a swimming expert. From what I can tell though, most of the studs seem to be sophmores or freshmen. Is that correct?

If so, should we expect this squad to be sick over the next couple of years?

Our women's team is loaded with talent and most are sophomores or freshmen. They are positioned to be in the elite class for years to come assuming low attrition and continued good recruiting. All seem likely.

A&M has six first-team all-americans...five are sophomores...they also have the NCAA leader in the 100 breaststroke who is a 17-year-old freshman...after seeing the times they have been posting this weekend, might the #5 ranking be too low????? Holy smokes Batman...

The first day writeup quotes Bultman - he says he gave the girls a bit of rest for the invitational. It shows. It's really nice they have so many NCAA cuts now and don't have to fight for them at Big12s.

I am amazed at how the women are swimming. I was talking to a friend this weekend who swam for TCU and we were both saying that if A&M had more of a history of success, they would definitely be higher than #5. We'll see how things shake out, but it looks VERY promising after this weekend.

The women crushed #7 SMU this weekend and soundly beat #10 Michigan. Our times are fantastic this early in the season. I'm sure the girls will go back to heavy training for Big12s and NCAAs. I'm looking forward to the spring. If we end the season in the top 5 it will be an eye opener to the college swimming world. Recruits will take visits to A&M that would never have before (such as some the future stars at Longhorn Aquatics in Austin), and they'll see how special this team is.

We will no longer have fastest times in all those relays. Arizona and Stanford are swimming some VERY fast times in Austin this weekend. But they likely are rested.

We will still be in the top few times but Arizona and Stanford are blazing fast right now. Texas on the other hand is far behind those two (and A&M).

Arizona is ABSOLUTELY rested...they always do that every year...been tapering for three weeks according the swimming chat boards...they sometimes have people go faster at the fall meet than at NC's too...they are ridiculously fast right now so good for them

It's amazing that we are in the conversation with these types of teams at this time of year...we have truly come a long way in a fairly short period of time...I can't wait to see who the new signees will be...they should be good considering how well things have been going
