This surprises me a little, coming off of what I considered to be a disappointing season last year. Obviously, conference coaches had different opinions as eight of them picked the Ags to win the conference this year.

Anyone familiar with the team that can provide some insight as to why the coaches think so highly of us even though we seemed to be a little down last year?

I think the Ags by far have the most returning starters and talent. If Amanda & Sharonda return to 2005 form, the Ags may win the conference by 2 or 3 games.

Texas, of course, lost Cat. Baylor lost 1 of their top hitters, but return their #1 slugger and #1 pitcher, which is why the bears are picked 2nd. OU lost a .400 hitter.

We have a pretty good crop of freshmen too. Look out for Macie Morrow. I expect her to do some big things.

We have basically eight position players coming back plus three pitchers. Two of the players coming back are All-Americans. We have a recruiting class that includes Macie Morrow and Alex Reynolds. We have one of the best catchers in collegiate softball behind the plate, and she is only a sophomore. Our top two pitchers are juniors. We have speed at the top of the lineup and at the bottom of the lineup and we have linedrive hitters from top to bottom. We can start nine ladies and the girls on the bench could start for any BIG XII team.

This team is loaded and ready to roll.

I would add though, that all this (talent, experience, etc..,) is why anything in 2007 short of the WCWS will be disapointing. It's time to breakthrough.

Dominant pitching is the key! Do we have it?

if amanda performes like she did in 2005 we will have dominant pitching to go along with our very potent line up..... this team is ready to do great things
