anybody want to weigh in on this bout? i like taylor. i've listened to him speak a couple times and he seems like a good guy - doesn't try to pump himself up too much - gives other boxers a lot of credit. from what i have read, these guys are friends and this should be a good fight.

Worst fight I have ever seen. You know it's bad when Lampley and Merchant are openly calling it a terrible fight, saying they feel sorry for anyone who paid money for it. Lampley repeatedly called it dreadful and borderline unwatchable, and Merchant wondered if it may have been the worst title fight of all time.

I agree, although it was mostly Spinks' fault. He'd snap off a couple weak jabs and run, rinse and repeat. Landing 16% of your punches and only 85 in the whole fight is pathetic. Then after the 12th round, he runs around the ring celebrating and then he and his trainer embrace. Wow.

A truly embarrassing night for boxing. I need to watch Gatti-Ward I on youtube right now so I don't lose all faith...

did you see the pavlik/miranda fight? there was more action in that fight than the taylor/spinks and mayweather/de la hoya fights combined. this is why boxing is hurting. people would rather watch ultimate fighting because you know there will be some action. i'd like to see pavlik fight either taylor or the hopkins/wright winner. that guy might be new favorite fighter. the dude has nice technique but he's a gritty fighter looking for the ko.

Pavlik/Miranda was a much better fight. I wasn't so sure last year that Winky Wright didn't beat Taylor. I'll be watching for a Pavlik/Taylor fight.

Winky's a biotch....he completely dicked around the last 2 rounds (which Taylor clearly won, I thought) and allowed Taylor a chance on the cards. If he had fought for 12 rounds instead of 10, it wouldn't have been a draw.
