Worst fight I have ever seen. You know it's bad when Lampley and Merchant are openly calling it a terrible fight, saying they feel sorry for anyone who paid money for it. Lampley repeatedly called it dreadful and borderline unwatchable, and Merchant wondered if it may have been the worst title fight of all time.
I agree, although it was mostly Spinks' fault. He'd snap off a couple weak jabs and run, rinse and repeat. Landing 16% of your punches and only 85 in the whole fight is pathetic. Then after the 12th round, he runs around the ring celebrating and then he and his trainer embrace. Wow.
A truly embarrassing night for boxing. I need to watch Gatti-Ward I on youtube right now so I don't lose all faith...
