The cardinal sin in CFB is losing late in tge season. You can lose early and make up fr it, losing late is different. You dont have time to climb back up and most of the time the voters hit harder late in the season.

If texas beats UGA, they will be 6 or 7. If they beat us, we swap places with them.

If texas loses to UGA, then beats us, we probably drop to 7-9. Texas won't drop far after they lose to UGA.

If texas loses to UGA and pig, they won't beat us.

For the record, I don't think they beat us in any scenario.

Its failure to implement an understandable strength of record system. Yes, it's stupid, but the previous standard was no losses and the early season loss was a way to sort multi-loss teams.

We will be 11-1 at worst. However, if our only win in the last 3 is SAMFORD we are still in the CFP, period. Though playing on the road likely. Out strength of schedule and strength of record would get us in.

These guys have the committee nailed. There are no "long conversations" or "eye tests" it's just a formula. Every explanation they give is just to give talk shows and message boards something talk about.

The committee formula is using insane SOS metrics that have us at 80th. 60 spots lower than most every other calculation. Missing the playoff at 10-2 is a very real possibility.

1 loss to ND's two, with one of those losses being to us at home. I don't see it.

If our one loss is tu and they managed to beat us AND Georgia, then yes I can see that.

They've predicted all the committee rankings with near 100% accuracy for a decade now. You should go let them know they're idiots.

It's completely insane. What makes it worse is we're number one in SOR.

So the committee is using metrics that directly contradict each other. You can't say that Indiana's schedule is 50 spots harder than ours, and then say that it's harder to go undefeated against our schedule than theirs. One of your models is wrong and you need to do something about it.

OP is correct.

We lose once we are dropping to around 10th behind tu and ND. We lose twice we are probably out of the playoffs and tu and ND get in.

Don't be naive.

Name 1 time we have been given the benefit of the doubt with these clowns doing polls, rankings, or whatever.

tu was a tough matchup for us on paper, and I was nervous about it earlier in the year. Now, I'm not nearly as concerned.

The simple fact that Alabama is rated as having better game control means that those stats are bunk. Alabama has been in close games, A&M's only close game was ND. The only way you get GC that convoluted is if you're somehow calculating in talent or record of opponent into ToP, which makes no sense.

It's also impossible to have a bottom half schedule in the SEC with ND as a non-conference opponent. Talent composite alone would prevent that.

Their refusal to name where their calcs come from is just icing on the cake.
