It's still a tough game with their defense. Even with a poor offense if they get a some turnovers and some lucky breaks or long plays they can beat you.
That's exactly what they did. The B1G is getting the benefit of being an 18 team league with 10 bottom feeders and getting lucky with their cupcakes not having losing records. There's a reason why ESPN stats consider talent composites.DimebagsGhost said:
Their SOS is probably just looking at the opponent's cumulative records so a kennesaw state at 7-2 is a "better" opponent than a 3-6 Arkansas team. That is all that is most likely
Which we all know is garbage

OP is correct.
We lose once we are dropping to around 10th behind tu and ND. We lose twice we are probably out of the playoffs and tu and ND get in.
Don't be naive.
Name 1 time we have been given the benefit of the doubt with these clowns doing polls, rankings, or whatever.

Just prepare yourselves... The bias against A&M is high, the value of a late season loss is high if not named ND, Bama, Georgia, OSU, etc - (a recent title winner)
We won't be slated as the 4 or 5 team... they will be pushing us down below tu and ND.
This is silliness.
Grow a pair.

Now you name one time any SEC or Big10 Team with one loss was ranked behind a 2 loss team THEY BEAT!
Time to come up with a new schtick.

Beat SC and 90-95% chance we're in. Lose to them and sips and we're out.
Massive game this weekend.

losing late has always screwed over the team vs the team that loses early.

That's counter to most projections ive seen on this.
I think it'd be better to say we lose control of our destiny if we were to end up 10-2 and it would be dependent on how every thing else ends up.
But mostly ive seen were in no matter what as a 10-2 sec team.

Whether this board likes it or not, there's so much downside and no margin for error. We have to win out as perception is stacked against A&M.
CFP rankings are so unimportant today, and we can debate why not being 1 or 4 is truly a better path (it all depends who makes it in and the sub-seeding of those teams, but CFP will do their best to have SEC teams elim themselves quickly).
While not our fault regarding this year's schedule as we have handled the SEC thus far, the combined record reflects we are only beating the lower echelon teams by record this year. UGA and Bama have played tougher SEC scheds (so has Ol Miss to an extent) and then they'll say tu after they play UGA and us.
Sips have high possibility of making it in as a 3 loss team (they need to beat either UGA or A&M at a min) as their resume has higher ranked wins and perception of playing tOSU better than anyone else this year. The Manning express is heating up, and big money will want tu in the playoffs for Manning royalty. Sankey will push for them to be in.
If we make SEC championship game, now have to win it to keep in top 3 of CFP. IF we lose to UGA or Bama, we will drop out of the top 4 as everyone (pundits, committee, non-A&M fans, haters) is discounting A&M via sched and defensive weakness (allowing pigs to run up w ease, Mizzou ran w ease in stat box and they had to play 3rd string QB, etc.).
NCAAF and CFP want to keep IU and tOSU top 2 to make the Big 10 championship game to be 1 vs 2 and then will also keep them 1 and 2 in CFP playoffs (as they are not going to penalize either...unless a large blowout and then maybe a large blowout in SEC championship).
