Howdy, my worst fears from this forum occurred last Friday trying to get tickets for the playoff game. I engaged WhoopAg09, posing as a David Chong (dchong6733@yahoo.com), to buy tickets and ended up losing $400. Thankfully I only paid half of our negotiated price prior to him sending the tickets, but needless to say after sending the money I never got the tickets and eventually was ghosted.

The profile was a year old with dozens of posts across various forums, almost like they were building it up for a big scam. Hope the $400 was worth it. Just wanted to post to warn users again that scammers are highly active on this forum and sometimes very tough to ascertain.

I also wanted to ask what the process is for getting this account banned? I have our conversation saved as well as proof of my payment to them.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about this hbl96. I agree that buyers can be vulnerable on this site.

I would think a consolidated list of trustworthy sellers and scammers would be very helpful. Recognizing there would be some additional administration for TexAgs, I would support and additional subscription fee for using the Ticket Exchange. Just a thought to eliminate the scumbags.

HBL - this sucks! Every time I post a WTB I get scammers - here's what I do:

1. If communicating via text - be highly suspicious of Android (green)
2. Speak directly - ask an easy Aggie trivia if they sound foreign.

I'd think Texags would police their site better as scammers are increasing.

Sorry you got scammed.

My first advice would be to never, ever post WTB. You are marinating yourself as scammer bait by doing that. Almost every scam I see out here was run on a WTB poster. Look for WTS, check their history, PM them, etc to confirm. Any hint of suspicion, walk.

Unfortunately, security comes with a cost and that's what Seatgeek and Stubhub are providing as part of their fee. Texags isn't in the broker business - understandably, so it's buyer beware. There are tools provided by the site that can help, but it's on us.

Agree 100% its on the buyers AND Sellers.
