Sometimes it may seem the distance is off but it does the closest points - so if there's an island or peninsula a few hundred miles off the coast it will be that. Think about the US - Alaska, Florida, Hawaii will all factor into the distance determination.UTExan said:

In this instance I went to Google maps and saw the distance between the involved countries was about 10 miles, but Globle indicated a distance which was longer based on a popular route.
