Woke up at 4:30 a.m.

It was 37 degrees this morning on the way in to work. Glad my truck has a good heater.

Rinse, recycle, and repeat day.

Ready for 5 p.m.

Working on my tow truck tomorrow and fixing the wiring on a race car.

Walked into work wearing my BIL jacket without realizing Today would be his birthday

Awww. Sometimes the universe intervenes for us.

- Have had a week to process (stew on) some uncomfortable news. Ready to let it go and move forward.
- Sister and BIL left for Choctaw (I think?) to go watch the fight with some friends.
- Being pulled toward the REI sale but the only thing I need is a new rain jacket and Amazon has those for cheaper than REI's sale. Why am I so drawn to that place?!

What kind of quality will you get from Amazon vis a vis REI?

Also, my dog has gas.

Slept hard but woke up over an hour before my alarm. Guess my body didn't need more sleep.

It's a good day so far, just busy. And getting people to set reminders to handle scheduled appointments is too much to ask of some adults.

I'm addicted to backpacks and camping stuff. I love backpacks. All kinds.

REI quality is hard to beat. They have a lot of really good stuff.

It's not really a flyover; they're just in the area to see if any tin roofs are rusted.

I am a Bass Pro person. I also like LL Bean stuff. I found some really good hiking pants at Academy that I use only for that. I just look around for what I need.

I don't particularly care for buying things on Amazon, but sometimes it's the only way.

My wife likes REI, but I put my foot down on spending money with those clowns, so we don't. I walked into the REI store in San Antonio before our Big Bend trip in 2022 to look for some hiking shoes. I wasn't wearing a mask. And as soon as I got into the store, three kids less than half my age were all over me like white on rice, chastising me about not wearing a mask. I politely left immediately, and that was that. They do have good stuff though.

Once upon a time, there was an LL Bean store in Maine that was open 24 hours a day. So we visited it when we did our New England and Atlantic provinces vacation.

My fishing hat is from there. I don't fish, but I bought one because it looked like the hat Henry Blake wore on M.A.S.H.

Those kids are having to deal with the end of: masks, preferred pronouns, men in women's sports and leadership roles, mass murder of babies, open borders, student debt forgiveness, WFH government jobs, the healthcare crisis, mail in ballots, mainstream media, global wars, and Epstein and Diddy. Imagine having to deal that much change. Have a little sympathy on them.
