• Working on a vacation quote for a Texager (have a few actually to do).
• Will work til about 10:30.
• Only have to cook smashed potatoes today and reheat the C&J's bbq. My guess family will be here around 11:30.
• Afternoon nap
• Afternoon walk
• Work some more. Watch some football.

It is going to be a great day.

Up early for duck hunting with my son.
Coffee and hot shower time.
Start frying the turkey around 10:30.
Nap after lunch.

Sh*t is burned fool

• Up at 3:00 AM to get the brisket on
• Back to bed until 8:30, then up to tend to the brisket
• Almost everything was ready to go, so very little to do until my FIL arrived
• Watched My Cousin Vinny because the defense is WRONG!
• Turns out this was probably my best brisket ever it was so good

How was the hunt?

Surprisingly slow. My son got 2 wood ducks. He just got into duck hunting last year and is ate up with it now. Our last hunt a couple of weeks ago, the ducks were coming in thick, but not today. We will keep at it, he loves going.

Bright, cold (40ish) sunny day in the Mountain West.
The spouse and I are heading over to a friend's house for dinner in about an hour or so pending completion of baking 2 pecan pies.
Raked a lot of leaves in near freezing temperatures with a bit too much skin exposure and a powerful inversion.of smog is setting up in the valley which traps cold, polluted air air the bottom. Thank goodness I don't live in Austin.

I ate way too much just now. It was awesome but my gut is hurting.

- What if I die from my stomach exploding bc I ate too much?
- I'm so afraid of the imminent stomach ache. So afraid.
- Pulled two boxes from the attic for Christmas decor and that's it for now. More tomorrow.
- Okay but back to me dying. It's gonna be a rough 24 hours.

And it tastes amazing. I think this was my best brisket to date. (and I did it on a 22" charcoal grill)
