My Christian XM radio station turned to Christmas. Not thrilled about that. I still remember living in Houston and I would listen to KSBJ all the time and then Dec 1st, switch to country.

I can handle a little, but not 30 days worth.

People try to say, 'oh, it's only once a year'. Now it starts in mid November and goes til the first. That is about 12.5 percent of the whole year we are listening to the same old boring ass terrible songs, telling ourselves that it is only once a year. Bullcrap.

I worked for the Woolco store at South Main and Hillcroft (the Woolworth company's rival to K-Mart) in Houston in the mid 1970's. We dreaded Christmas. The very loud music created a "buying atmosphere" according to upper management. The reality was that talking to customers was almost impossible because the music made talking almost impossible. When the chain shut down in 1982 it was not a surprise to anyone.

If I were even a moderately famous musician/songwriter I would continually try to produce a noel hoping one would become popular enough to set me up for life.
