Oregon weather is no joke once you get out of the Willamette Valley. Drove up to Crater Lake one year on Memorial Day and saw a few snowflakes, like "haha, it's snowing". Ten minutes later it's like full-on, white out blizzard conditions.
Yep. I lived in West Linn for 6 years and called Willamette Valley home. This is spot on.

We fell in love when we went during the summer. Drove a full loop east to the falls down to Bend, then Crater Lake (amazing), then back west up the coast. We fell in love with it so much that my kid got accepted to Univ of O and we seriously considered it. Thing is, we were there in the summer… and Canon Beach was still very chilly.
