I feel like I should give a little more details into last night as the beer and the shochu have worn off.
The two guys next to us were a boss and former employee out for a meal and a drink. One of my friends is nearly fluent I japanese and the boss man knew English. Between them and translate apps we got along really well. The younger guy was 35 and really funny and at one point told me, "I love you, man!" He then typed out on the translate app, "Nai. Do not tell the rest of them what I am asking you". I should point out the good friends I am with are women and married to each other. I tell him okay, a little nervous about what he was about to ask. I then read the following
"Nai. Do you want to go to the Japanese Girls store with me? I know a good place near your hotel in Shinjuku. It is quality."
I politely declined and explained that I was happily married.
(Also going to an off the books sex club in Tokyo with a guy I just met and neither of us speak each others languages seems like a recipe for disaster)
He furiously started typing and responded, "it's ok! I am married too. It's just for fun!" I again declined and called it a night before the trains stopped running.
Tokyo has yet again given me another unforgettable experience.
