This is acceptable. I really didn't eat much mayo until I was older, but damn sure not on a hot dog.

I'll never understand the average American's desire to take something hot and something cold then smash the two together between something that is neither thus ruining both at the same time and then putting it in their mouth.

The "loaded burger" is an abomination and needs to end. Meat (and cheese if you f***ed that part up by overcooking it) and something to collect the flavor...I mean grease.

Definitely mayo on the bottom, topped with a patty, topped with American cheese, topped with bacon, topped with honey mustard, topped with grilled onions and jalapeños, topped with a drizzle of BBQ sauce. That's pretty much the only way I eat my burgers these days.

I make a chipotle mayo for hot dogs that's great.

Burger:
mayo, tomato, pickle, ketchup, cheese
onions of any sort, jalapeno, bbq sauce instead of ketchup are all acceptable
mustard and lettuce are frowned upon

Dog:
mustard
OR
chili, mustard, onion, and cheddar
OR
mustard, ketchup, dill relish
BUT NEVER
mayo, sweet relish

Don't knock it til you try it. Ranch, pepper jack, bacon, lettuce, and tomato would be outstanding.

Burger: Mayo and yellow mustard if those are my options, but I generally make mayo based burger sauce or liven the mayo with Chipotle, Jalapeno, roasted garlic, etc if I'm at home

Dogs: Yellow mustard, relish, and grilled onions

I once witnessed a morbidly obese man dip fried gas station burritos directly into a jar of room temperature miracle whip.

Don't like lettuce or tomatoes on a burger. As stated earlier they tend to be cold or wet and screw up the bun.

Mayo, meat, cheese, grilled onions, grilled Jalapeños and/or grilled mushrooms. Finally, the key ingredient is a toasted bun.

Hot dog - mustard, chili, cheese, jalapeños. Or mustard, onion and relish.

Aioli on fries, or mayo and Tabasco mixture.
What do you boys want for breakfast BBQ ?.....OK Chili.

In New England, the popular style of hotdog bun is sliced lengthwise across the top, so I developed the habit of experimenting with different toppings and condiments. My go-to combination is a thin spread of cheap yellow mustard on the bun, a little shredded cheese, and then a healthy scoop of salsa on the dog. Also, cut a criss cross pattern across the top of the frank before you grill it.

I'm okay with mustard, mayo, or even miracle whip on a burger, but never ketchup. I worked with a guy once who used Miracle Whip instead of butter on a grilled cheese sandwich, but I never tried it. I think it's probably a misdemeanor in some states. I also never had the guts to try a Luther Burger, but I'm still alive, so that was probably a good call.

I can do a little bit of May on a burger or sandwich but it has to be barely scraped on, not the giant gross fatty blob you see on burger advertisements. That's disgusting.

I can do mustard, or bbq sauce, or d as one sort of spicy sauce on a burger in a good quantity. Maybe ketchup if I am desperate and that's all there is, but I can do without Mayo.

For sure never mayo on a hot dog. Mustard or maybe mustard + ketchup
