Saw Desert Highway last night at The Kenney Store. Eagles tribute band. They were excellent. I've known two of the band members since high school. We had a nice visit afterwards.

There was a power outage in Kenney when I got there. Whole store was dark. One of the guys in the band had a small generator in the back of his truck. They put it in the parking lot, ran a couple of power snakes in, powered the lights and gear, and played anyway right on time.

The power to town came on after about 30 minutes of the set. It was a fun night!

Here is Simon, the store cat. He was grumpy with some people but he liked me.

-Welp another year around the sun.
-Rainy rainy here in Punta Cana
-We change resorts today and saved the best for last. Pretty pumped as we had dinner there last night and the resort is stunning. Just hope we can have some clear skies at least some today and tomorrow.
-Gots to do about an hour of work this AM
-Margs in my future

Sunny and 67F on our way up to a cloudless 77F. My new chairs are out on the balcony, and Callie couldn't decide whether or not she was brave enough to go outside (2nd story balcony, not freedom). She was not. Ready for work to be over so I can sit outside.

-HBD jmac! I'm right behind you birthday wise. Few more weeks until the big 45- I am definitely feeling it.
-double walk. One with the dogs one without -then a workout
-debate on whether to do the fair tonight. It's a big meh for all of us,unless the kids get peer pressured. Pork chops on a stick and a cheap plastic glass of wine is enough to get me there. Maybe
-I need a week's worth of fall clothing for the new job training in Chicago. I hate shopping.

  • Tried the new Trolli Cherry Lemon Mountain Dew (it only comes in zero sugar). It tastes like a liquid gummy worm and at 68mg of caffeine is quite a bit of a wake up compared to my usual Diet Coke.
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JMAC! Drink all of the margaritas today!
  • One of my fav Mexican food places is reopening today after being closed since August.
  • I am slowly learning how to be a designer against my will. My wife is needing bookish merch made and just assumes that because I have the entire adobe creative suite I know how to do everything.
  • It's starting to get cool and leaves are changing. Bring on the apple cider donuts!
  • This also means its the best time to make traditional Scottish recipes. Scottish food is made for the fall and winter climates.
  • I have a new Lego F1 car I want to get started on this evening.
  • Shaping up to be a really good day

Reading this morning about a murder suspect who had been denied bail being mistakenly released after some sort of clerical error led to his bail being mistakenly set to $5000 in the computer system.

I'm not there yet but wanted to get it done this year and insurance declined to pay for it. After my friend passing earlier this year and another discovered benign polyps it feels like I know more people affected by colon cancer at an earlier age. Insurance will pay for it if I have a family history so i need to do a little investigating

Let's not turn this into an olds thread, but I have history and an underlying issue and they still wouldn't do it until this year. Insurance is stupid. They will pay for chemo and ER trips but not an early scope.

Congrats! 38 and pregnant makes me tired just thinking about it. Not as tired as 45 chauffeuring a bunch of kids and listening to young moms complain and give way too many craps about things though. You have so much to look forward to!
