Let's go way on way back when

Born on a mountain top in Tennessee
Greenest state in the land of the free
Raised in woods so he knew every tree
Killed him a bar when he was only three
Davy, Davy Crockett King of the wild frontier
The person that is not willing to fight and die, if need be, for his country has no right to life.

There was more that I don't remember. Puryear also had a song they would serenade us with (in Law). I'll see if anyone else remembers that one.

not a jingle but it got stuck in my head and I'd sing "llama Mr. Norman." All the while butchering the other crazy Spanish words in the commercial.

Not a jingle to sing to but surely one to mimic/hum or whatever you call it.

The 9 y/o in me always attaches this to the movie Rocky for some reason. Maybe the first time I watched Rocky was on HBO, maybe it is just similar to the Rocky tunes. Funny how things imprint on you as a child.

Whenever I hear the HBO static/ hum I expect to hear the Sopranos theme start.

As for jingles, I remember "You got the look" and "You got it, Toyota."

I grew up in NJ so our local commercials were a lot of mobbed-up appliance stores like Crazy Eddie...his prices were insane!

Lone Star beer commercial:

We've seen tough times around these parts before
But a Texan's at his best when his backs against the wall
Working long days in the saddle
Punching rope and branding cattle
The Lone Star is on the rise again.

Give me love give me Lone Star give me Texas
Give me hard work, soft ladies, and good friends
Don't mess with me or mess around with Texas
The Lone Star is on the rise again.

When I got to A&M in 1986, I heard this commercial and it has stuck in my head ever since.
