.,.. why year round daylight saving time is a BAD idea.

Still dark. Sunrise after 7:30 AM. In December, sunrise would be at 830 in the morning. And on that day, sunset would still be at 6:30 PM, so none of your major golfers would be playing 18 after work anyway.

Year round DST has been tried before and barely lasted the one year as everyone who though it'd be great discovered it sucked.

Year round Standard Time FTMFW!

I was happy with Daylight Savings Time as it was in the 80s/90s/early 2000s before they expanded it. Now it goes on weeks too long.

I don't mind going to work in the dark and don't care one bit if the sunrise is at 8:30.

I loathe walking out of the office and it's dark. Camp year-round DST, here.

Also, when I played golf I loved it not getting dark until 8:30pm in the summer so I could get 9 holes in after work.

A bunch of us from work would go at least one evening per week.

I like it lighter longer in the evening not necessarily for golf after work but so I can mow the yard during the week instead spending the weekend doing so I can golf on the weekend ;-)

If you stay standard all the time, there are parts of the country where it would be light at 4:30am and sunset before 7pm for a good part of the summer. Makes no sense. I'm not sure why a 1 hour change rocks everyone's world - we mostly just love to bich. But again, if we pick one, year-round DST is the way. Sorry to the olds if that means in December you don't have time to get your morning walk in before you meet your buddies for coffee at Whataburger; you can do your walk after.

This, never understood why this is such a big deal. Especially now that almost all clocks change themselves automatically.

Can't believe 11 people blue starred the OP, plus the sun came up at the same time this morning as it did yesterday so not sure what makes today's sunrise special.

Now that our clocks change themselves what can't we spread out change? Move the time 90 seconds a day for 40 days rather than an hour overnight. It's the sudden jolt that people hate, and rightly so.

Changing the clocks at all is dumb. Some parts of the year the sun rises at 7 and some parts of the year the sun rises at 8, why the hell do we need to change what the number on the clock says? The sun is only gonna be up for a set number of hours each day, it makes no difference what the numbers on a clock says.

Same number of hours of daylight no matter what. Get up earlier, or stay out later, depending on the time of the year. It is only an hour. A single hour.

If your boss won't adjust your hours where you can get that one extra hour of golf, quit playing golf, work harder, buy the company, fire your old boss, and play golf any time you like!
