We spent months looking for a car for my daughter. We ultimately bought it off FB Marketplace. And you are right, everything is expensive.

I was very cautious on who we bought from. I happened to find an older couple whose wife used to work at A&M. It was single owner, and essentially most of the miles were highway miles as they lived way out on 21. If I had any doubts, I would have taken it to a mechanic before purchasing. Cause yeah you just don't know what you are getting.

Sold my wife's old SUV this morning to a private buyer. Via Facebook Marketplace!

Had bought my wife an SUV in September to replace her old 2011 SUV. I had to juggle 2 buyers on the same day. First was a black African guy from Kenya and another white American guy from the neighboring state. The African guy test drove it yesterday and started bargaining after I got him to agree to a price over text. Then he asked me if I was a "good man" (flattery doesn't work with me). Then he complained that his first wife left him after he paid for her education and now had a second wife. Sorry to hear that but why is that relevant here?? We are here to do business.

The white guy just came over, took it to a mechanic to check, paid and drove off. No hassle.

The experience was a good education. There are many sharks waiting to get a bite with "4k" and "5k" offers when you may have listed it for 10k. Some get offended if you say no and then taunt and laugh at you. I had to block a few who were getting semi-threatening. One fellow had his lowball offer rejected 6 weeks ago, he actually came back to send me a message laughing at me that he bought a car and my car will be unsold until next year and "HA HA HA". Crazy people out there.

Finally I get my driveway back and brings a 3 month project to an end! Relief!

Here is an example. Poor sod was trying his best for me to sell it to him for a lowball price. The taunting did not help. I had to adjust my price but I sold it much above what he predicted.

January of 1987, I had to take a dump on the shoulder of I-10 during snowstorm. That was not pleasant especially when big rigs passed causing the snow to blow all around. My car didn't provide much protection from the blowing snow.

That is an outstanding idea. I'm on vacation tomorrow, and it looks to be a six hour drive for me. If it's a big enough blowout, I am ALL OVER IT! Also, I call the recliner sofa for sleeping.

We lived in Fallon for about five years when I was a kid. Only about 60 miles from Reno. Pyramid Lake is near there and the trout get pretty huge.
