He did, but it seems like more of a pascal's wager hedge in his explanation as to why. He had a hard time believing, but I hope he got there.

Her protest pre-dated Rosa Parks by 9 months. She got a raw deal and should have been held in the same esteem as Rosa Parks. But the NAACP and other organizations thought Parks would be a better option to be the face of the bus boycotts because she was an adult and Colvin was a teenager. So she was basically erased from the history books.

IIRC a big part of it was because she was pregnant at the time. A pregnant woman could have been the perfect case study, but Colvin was pregnant, unmarried, and a teen. That's really what put Parks in play.

This discussion might be suited for another forum. The common narrative and image that gets projected is that Rosa Parks was just humble housekeeper caught in the arbitrary and racist ordinances in Alabama. There were several documented instances of black people refusing to give up their seats prior to Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks gets all the pub because she was specifically sent to poke the bear. She had been an officer of the local NAACP chapter for over ten years leading up to the event. Those details are often left out of the narrative. So while Rosa Parks was a victim, she was not the first and only person to stand up. She was also an instigator.
