I know on GM vehicles, Onstar has its own fuse and even if you're no longer subscribed to Onstar, it constantly looks for the satellite 24/7 even if it's parked in the garage.

Hmmm. Interesting. Assume removing the fuse would solve that?

Way, way too much thinking about this and way too much calculating. Just buy a new ****ing battery, put it in the damn vehicle, and live life. It is only a couple hundred bucks.

But it's a Jeep. It will find a way to screw up the battery.

Sorry this thread shocks you. We are just trying to stay current with trends. Don't totally understand your negativity, but maybe learning how to save some money could jump-start your journey from poverty.

And, may I add, we could all chip in to buy a Consumer Reports subscription for our friend to help avoid buying a Jeep in the future.

The costlier models sometimes do have more robust electrodes with more lead in them and more surface area, so it takes more use or more extreme conditions to oxidize or wear them out typically.

10-15 years ago, Consumer Reports recommend Walmart batteries as a "Best Buy".

Ever since I just go there whenever I think I might need a new one (age and/or symptoms). They swap it out while I pick up a few things from the store.

And, if you happen to be out of town and battery symptoms arise, very likely there's a Walmart nearby.

ETA: Walmart usually doesn't advertise it, but they have a battery bracket/terminal cleaning service that highly recommend, to help prevent corrosion. It was something like $5. Well worth it.
