I go once a week, on the weekends. I did a walmart pickup order for tonight. That way we can stay in all weekend, if we need to

Probably not crowded at all. From the pictures I have seen grocery stores have nothing left to buy.

We're now forecast to get 3" to 6" of snow this weekend, an improvement. Going to be unpleasantly cold (WINDY) though. The grocery stores here will probably have a run on ice melt, but I've got plenty in my car. Other than that, I imagine they'll have everything they normally do. I also no longer have a driveway to shovel, which is nice. I'd love to sit on my balcony while it snows, but our windchills are supposed to drop down to around -15F. Ouch.

I'm on-call for work today and have my fingers crossed that it will be uneventful.

Too often! lol.

Actually, the rib generally goes to the store for the week on Sunday. Then I normally get stuff for the weekend on Friday. But I'm going tonight instead.

Is it weird that I'm excited for this? I have to go walk a dog for half an hour outside in a little bit; not excited about that part.

Well, today is the winner if you have to walk someone else's dog in that forecast.

That's really tough on the animals that live outside without shelter. Respiratory problems and hypothermia for cats and dogs come to mind.

The wind chill is -3; deceptive. Even so, you're still prob right.

I think about that. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be many strays here; not like in Texas, at least. I thought about putting out a warming cat box but haven't seen any cats that don't belong to my neighbors in many months.

I just bought one of those and it came in today. It also has TWO cameras on it! I can't wait to get it set up this afternoon before it gets really cold.

• Need to do some mucking before it gets cold
• My mind is spinning. Out of the blue I got an email on Ancestry the other day. I now know so much more about my dad's side of the family. Never knew my grandfather had 6 siblings. Found out I have a second cousin who lives 200 miles from me. Wow. Hope he's a Giants and Mets fan.

• SO tired. Slept maybe 2 hours and have no idea why.
• Been a stressful week but hopefully getting better.
• All a sudden swamped again with travel (not a bad thing). Booking 2 Alaska Railroad trips this evening. Quoted a group for river cruises this summer yesterday (still working too). Christmas markets river cruise, Spain trip.
• Need to go to grocery store, probably during lunch. I've heard from mom and hubs it is crazy.

Really need a nap.

Weather is forcing me to make an unscheduled trip to my cabin to finish installing the HVAC so the contents of said cabin do not freeze.

We had a neighbor who fed a feral cat for several years and he survived some brutal Salt Lake City winters, probably by shimmying under a a garage door and sheltering inside. Finally she gained his trust enough to introduce him to a cat shelter on her back porch away from the north wind where he could recline on an electrically warmed pad and enter/exit through flexible polymer barriers. The cat would never come inside the house and was big enough that apparently the raccoons wouldn't bother him. Finally, she trapped him and he was neutered and he was just a love sponge after that.

Bless you for that kindness. Animals have no other helpers than us humans. And we're a real mixed bag.

For all of those buying lottery tickets, the winner in Arkansas took the lump sum payment.

Forecast now calling for 5" to 10" of total snow Friday night through Sunday morning. I'm assuming school will be called Monday and that I'll have to do my grocery shopping that day as well (usually shop on Sunday). I'll get our "Saturday pizza" on Friday night this week. I'm going to stock up with a few 2 liter Diet Cokes (coffee substitute), and I'm ready for some winter!!

Looks like the snow cover will stick around, and we can sled the next weekend.

Well I already have a truck and we are moving to Scotland in 5 years so it seems like a frivolous way to spend $10K

I'm a dual citizen. My mom was born in Glasgow and I would spend my summers there as a kid. We really love it and plan on moving with our best friends.
