Seems like a beautiful place. Hopefully going to be able to take my parents there this summer. Also seems like some of the crazies there are taking over and it's not what it used to be.

I regret that I never made it up to Britain when I was stationed in Germany. That place has a fascinating history and culture.

You should drive back to Independence, KS. The weather there looks fine until noon tomorrow. That gives you time to get a room w/pooch, get some sleep, and make it back to Iowa tomorrow in one piece.

Laura Ingalls Wilder lived in Independence, KS, so Tanya and I stayed there in June 2005. Looking at our pictures just now, and I think one of Gus' ancestors was living in this reconstruction of a 19th century frontier home!!

If the latest weather model runs are correct you'll probably beat the weather, but if you get slowed down by a few hours you could be stuck on a highway in a snowstorm.
