Assuming that screens need "saving" is a product of the cis-het patriarchal hegemony. What makes you think that the screens aren't fully actualized just the way they are?

EDIT - And people got boring and started using power saving.

Employers figured out we were getting hypnotized by them and therefore nonproductive (you'll notice that social media exploded when screensavers went away).

I have a friend who still uses an aol email address (his only email account). I will ask him.

Mind you, he was drafted into the Army in 1970, and did a tour in Viet Nam. it's what he chooses to do.
