If your kid gets accepted and added to the on-campus housing waitlist in Feb, what are the odds of getting a dorm room?

Same here a few years after you. Unfortunately, A&M has very little room to get a good percentage of freshman on campus.

And that price is long gone! Lol

Happened to me, so I joined the band. Corps enrollment guarantees a dorm room…on the Quad. The rest is history.

Dorms? Do you hate your kid and want them to live with the commoners? Gross. If you love your kid would put down a deposit on the penthouse at Aria Reserve. Living in a dorm is nasty.

In 1991 I was number 67, from the top. Essentially, I could have any dorm I wanted. I picked Moses Hall as my first choice. My friends thought I had lost my mind but I had visited it , liked it and it was cheep. My best friend had a high number and didn't pick Moses Hall but he got put there anyway. We both loved it and stayed for three and four years respectively.

Crocker, Moore, McInnis, and Cain Hall have faced the wrecking ball as well. Hotard is still standing but closed in 2005 to be converted to offices.

Non-A/C dorms ceased to be a thing when Hart got window units in 2002, but I think returning residents were grandfathered into the extra-cheap non-A/C rent rate.

Walton also has window units now.

New Army is soft.

Remember when some ramp from Walton was thrown off-campus because they duct taped an RA to a tree on a Friday night?!?

In spring of '87 they had the E-Ramp Eviction because they were all too rowdy. Booted the whole ramp halfway thru the spring. Buddy of mine was on that ramp. He had to beg Treehouse to give him a short lease until the end of the semester.

It made the Aggieland yearbook.

Yes. Got admitted. Did not get on campus housing. I was in band in highschool and was always interested in military stuff so I thought I'd give it a try. Yes, if you join the corps, they do put you in a room on the quad….guaranteed form room. Did 4 years in the band. One of the best choices I ever made.

I had a dorm room at Moses.
I lived in Keathley.

I went to a kick ass party in Walton my freshman year. I was staying at Schumacher and was blown away at the size of the rooms at Walton.

Somehow they got a keg in there. And the amount of people was insane. You couldn't really move - it was just one amorphous blob.

I was there at the same time - my fish year, too. Top floor and I think the fifth door.

I remember the upperclassmen calling a meeting to talk about the first cut. They told us that we were going to have to have letters shaved in our hair. Semi-threatened us. Said if we didn't, we would be run down, tackled and get our head shaved and that someone was going to get hurt. I replied, damn right someone is going to get hurt. Nobody bothered me after that.

My books, that I didn't use, cost more than my dorm that semester.

The one you quoted was our main yell.

You got there just after I left, 80-83. I lived in 416, 408 and that glorious senior year in 401.

My daughter has lived in FHK over the last year. A&M announced about a 10% increase in their housing prices starting next semester.

She found a house and is sharing a room with a friend for half the cost of the dorm and it's right behind St. Mary's. No $500 parking permits needed.

Wow. A whole ramp.

I remember when they cleaned the entire Davis-Gary Dorm out and made it female. Funny thing was the girls that moved I tried to keep up the rowdy DG tradition and got Bonfire cuts.
