Is there anything good out there that won't sag and develop horrible impressions after a year or 2? Definitely think we need something that has a bit of firmness to it for better back support, but we are both side sleepers so can't be too firm.

Reading online it just seems like regardless of cost, everything starts to sag these days and ends up being junk in the end. Anyone on here have anything that is still lasting the test of time and would recommend??

Memory foam seems to be the common denominator as far as future failure, but seems like most all mattresses are made with various foam layers.

My sleep number has stayed firm for 20 years. Had to change the topper a couple of times but its still going strong.

We got one of the "hybrid" mattresses a couple of years ago, not quite inner-spring but not memory foam either. It works well and already has it's fair share of miles on it.

I'm still on my second Madison from Denver Mattress. The first one lasted about ten years from 2008 to 2018.

I have a latex mattress. Only four years old but has held up just fine in that time. It's a heavy sonofa*****, though.

We gave up on pillow top mattresses about five years ago and went back to a flippable mattress.

I've given up on corporate mattress garbage. Because that's what most of those on the market are - overpriced garbage.

Latex is a solid option if you like that feel. Even better is a hybrid system of coils, latex, and a small memory foam layer. There are good sources out there for building/assembling your own mattress using the materials of your choice. The bonus is that when say a foam layer wears out in a few years you can unzip it and just replace the layer that needs replacing without having to buy a whole new mattress.

The biggest thing I learned is to avoid all-foam. Hybrids or latex hybrids seem to hold up way better and don't get those deep body impressions as fast.
We switched to a hybrid, and it's been way more supportive even after a couple years, especially as side sleepers.
Also, a small tip. Check warranty/customer service. I actually had to call the sears phone number before for a mattress issue. That stuff matters more than you think.

Does it flip while you're on it?!
