I remember getting on Linkedin sometime in 2007 if I am not mistaken. I added my grad school classmates, work colleagues. Every time I joined a new company, I would be inundated with people finding me on Linkedin and adding me. I would do the same as well.
I notice a change in recent years. People have tired of all of this "adding". The last 2 companies I joined, I have not received any connection requests on Linkedin at all. I got along with most of them. One chap added me many months after I left.
Just joined a new company this year, the people are amazing - no connection requests. I might send them out but nothing from their side.
If this is a trend that is widespread, people are tiring of Linkedin and building their networks online. Do you also see something like this?
There was a time when the trend was to add work colleagues to Facebook. That trend died about 13 years ago, I I added them in 2011-12, but not since.
