Did Pike's market...if you go, make sure you go midday - they close around 5 in the afternoon - then it's a ghost town...kinda weird for it being a tourist destination....
- watched the 4th fireworks atop a hotel - pretty cool....
- hiked around Mt. Rainier.....beautiful....
- we went north for a day, put my toes in the Sound - DAMN COLD......

never ran into ANY homeless, BLM crap the entire time we were there....was up there 4 days....

If the underground tours in downtown are still a thing it was fun 15 years ago.

Background: The downtown you see today was built on top of the original downtown, but the original shops remained opened for a while. Eventually everything below street level closed. The original buildings became basements for what you see today. Many of the businesses above continue(d?) to use them as storage.

The tour would change from time to time as the shop owners above would renew/end their agreements with the tour operators. This meant your tour from one visit to the next can be different.

The sidewalks at the 'new' street level were built with glass windows to provide light to the original sidewalks underneath. Between years of foot traffic and the composition of the glass changing its color over time, no light gets through anymore. You don't realize you're often stepping on what was technically a skylight at one time.
