Howdy! Does anyone have a recommendation for a construction law attorney? We may have to bring a civil suit against our home builder and possibly a criminal suit. We're in the San Antonio area. Thanks!

- I'm 20 years Navy (retired last summer). We had most of the home built while we were out of state.
- Custom build. Moved into it in October (6 months behind schedule)
- Mold on concrete subsurface due to negligence found in Feb. He's trying to get his builders risk insurance to cover it. If they won't then the lawsuit will have to happen. About $80K job because all the cabinets have to get ripped out because they were placed on the floating floor.
- Additionally, independent inspection found 40-50 code violations.

You can take a sailor out of the navy but you can never take seaman out of him.

Before this thread goes too far, you will likely receive better recommendations on the outdoors board.

The general board is always ready to suggest things with most of the suggestions being not helpful.

Was the molding the source of the mold?




In all seriousness the Outdoors Board will provide some great advice as suggested earlier in this thread.

Not to be a debbie downer but I don't think you will get much, if anything. My BIL is a builder (not in SA) and has several lawsuits. And I've seen posts about DR Horton homes with mold issues.
Once you close, the house is your responsibility.
