I don't see the point in labeling somebody an R when they just passed away. I'll leave it up to the Lord to judge him. Only the Lord understands the mental gymnastics we use today to label somebody an R are more complex than the algorithms used in AI. They didn't play that crap at the Chicken and 99% of the people there didn't even know about the R songs.

omg the r word

Glad I'm not the only one that thought that was strange.

The poem Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me Too makes a bit more sense now.

I only remember one "r-word" song on the Dirty Dave collection, though it has been a long time since I've listened to it. A lot of people on the internet seem to think that he was Johnny Rebel, but that's false.

It's a shame that's what people focus on, since "One More Time" was such a beautiful Daddy-daughter dance song.

I was being cognizant of the snowflakes on here. My kids always say "R-slur". I thought it might be a thang.

I hope I did not offend anybody with this post. If I did, please come see me at my address in my profile so we can talk.

"R" is used for ****** now. We are no longer allowed to call people ******ed or say something is ******ed.

"Racist" is not a bad word (yet) and should not need censorship.

Saw him at Wolfpen Creep Ampitheater back in the mid 90's.... he was an old man then.

30ish years ago, I heard that DAC had actually fallen in the "moat" when playing at Wolfpen.

Not sure if he fell in but if that was the same one I was at it took him a long while to come out the bus. He was "under the weather" if you know what I mean. We still had a great time drinking and waiting. Good show once the meds kicked in for him.

I was at that Steve Martin show, and it was Steve Goodman (the guy who wrote "You Never Even Called By My Name") who opened for him. Great show.

I saw Coe in the mid 90s. I would have bet millions that he wouldn't live another 30 years.
