38F this morning. Nice way to start May! A sunny day is in store here in Mid-Missouri with a forecast high of 63F. Supposed to be in the upper 30s again tonight.

Hoping the rain ends in Aggieland before 10 PM tonight so they can play the ballgame at Olsen. Would stink to have a DH tomorrow with "Banana Ball" scheduled at Kyle Field.

Disappointed I didn't get contacted about my MRI yesterday. I'm not sure what a reasonable amount of time to wait before calling them is. I am ready to be recovering.

Flying to The Peoples' Republic of Austin. Left my passport at home. Hopefully Austin has relaxed their travel restrictions. Been a good while since I've been downtown. Can't wait to see how the Urban Outdoorsmen are thriving there.

Lived with Mom for 18 years, and she taught me nothing about cooking. Then I lived on campus and ate at Sbisa for four years. By the time I had an apartment, I was a 5th year senior and dating Tanya. She *loved* to cook. Tanya and I were then married for 23 years.

By the time I was on my own, I was 47 and couldn't cook anything. I can boil water and heat something in the oven, but that's about it. Cooking makes me terribly nervous. I really dislike it.

Those are actually low key good, as the kids say.

• Slept horribly. Didn't feel well (not sure if ate something bad) and doggo kept barking at the storm.
• Did not go to work today. Still don't feel great but kind of late to try and sleep more but will see.
• Aggie Softball just beat #1 Oklahoma. Wish I had known it was on earlier, only watched the last out.
• Nothing else for the rest of the day except resting and tv watching.
• I really wanted to go see Devil Wears Prada 2 tonight but that isn't happening.

Do whats left of the rainy day.

Editing - just realized that today's softball game was a continuation of last night - which is great. We went to bed maybe in the 5th inning and A&M was losing by 2 - so they came back to score 5 runs between last night before it rained out and finished today!

• Enjoying the rain and cool weather
• Writing a research paper all day to meet a deadline
• My research assistant (aka Parlor Panther #1) is curled up asleep in a basket of clean laundry

America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country are your best friend. They have tons of YouTube content and regularly air on PBS or other local access TV.

I will also add - crockpot meals are super easy to do. Usually just dump a few ingredient.


Coming from the person who rarely cooks.

Edited - if you have a crock pot let me know. I will send you a 3 ingredient recipe thats delish.

I was blessed, my mom was home economics teacher when I was a kid and she taught me how to cook…I love cooking, and I test myself on new recipes…I can't bake worth a s*** because how she cooked was basically cooking to taste, in baking, it has to be specific…dabo, just find some recipes and start cooking.

Dabo, you are in a Mexican food wasteland.
