Our 5 year class reunion was fantastic. Held at the Aggieland Inn, special rates for Ags, meet and greet social and a dinner / dance on the second night. Various University tours of new buildings and performances by the Yell Leaders, Rev came by and we had the Aggie Wranglers do a show too. Overall, pretty excellent. Had it in late April.

Next one we attended was at the Texas A&M Hotel with a special rate. Had a social meet and great at the Alumnai Center the first night and a luncheon during an away football game with the game on the big screen at the alumnai Center. Again, Rev, Yell Leaders and Wranglers all made appearances. Good time.

Now, we have a reunion scheduled in October on a home football weekend. Texas A&M Hotel is not available. We were given a list of available hotels but no reunion discounts. No social or dinner is planned. Alumni Center is open to watch the game .All other forms of entertainment are busy. No football tickets are allotted for the reunion to buy to sit together. Very minimal support from the University as they say they are busy during A&Ms 150 celebration.

Kind of a bummer. Do you think the University is not interested in spending the time and effort for the reunions as they did before?

How was your's?

I graduated 18 years ago, it never even occurred to me to go to a reunion, I didn't even know they had them.

Why would it be the university's responsibility to plan the reunion? Their mission is to be educators, researchers and for technological advances.

My class died after elephant walk. Whoever is left can show up 50 years later at campus Muster.

Reunions have been moved to the spring. Seems like mostly CTs and & BQs attending. at least at 30 & 40 yr. I know, I know I'm old...

Our class agents don't do jack squat, so if we had any reunions in the last 23 years, I didn't hear about them.

I'm Class of '94, but I'm in touch with more people from my high school class of 114 students than my class at A&M. I've never been to an Aggie (or high school) reunion. That's what Facebook is for (periodic updates on old acquaintances).

I'm still the best looking dude in the class.
I hope I did not offend anybody with this post. If I did, please come see me at my address in my profile so we can talk.

Y'all shouldn't have planned it for a home game weekend when you know hotel rooms are scarce and overpriced. Are you really surprised you can't get a room at the campus hotel?

People go to class reunions to see how fat everyone else got or to see how much better their life turned out compared to the people they envied or hated.

People who don't go to class reunions because they got fat, or they turned out to be a total failure and a loser.

This. Sounds very strange to me. I mean, how many of the 10,000 other people in your graduating class do you actually know? Seems like an environment for a lot of awkwardness.

When A&M first scanned its old documents, I came across a 35th reunion picture for the Class of '25, taken in 1960. That is my maternal grandfather's class, and I wish that I'd saved the picture all of those years ago. He is clearly visible in it, and a number of those men were his lifelong friends.

The university might still have a central, searchable photo archive, but I sure don't know where it is.

EDIT - Sorry to hijack this thread, but it's going nowhere.

Sounds like a shake down by the university to make sure my contact information is correct so they can hit me up for money.

It's from the same reunion. The picture I remember was taken on the 2nd story walkway between the MSC and the hotel.

More of a class agent issue than a university issue.

My world revolved around the outfit (and soon to be Teacher Wife '82), and we've had a few reunions. Many of us see each other before games at a "forever tailgate" one of my upperclassmen puts on.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really
