Oddly enough, I only know one person personally who seems to think chili should be served over rice and they grew up in Hawaii where Obama claims to have been born.

But the person in question also claims to have been vegetarian since age 6 so apparently she really just grew up eating beans and rice. She might as well have been from the valley or southern Louisiana.

I prefer my chili with cinnamon rolls.

Chili served over rice is big in SETX..of course because of the it's the Texas Cajun Coast and it's rice country…

The key to making hoe cakes is the chef must be a hoe. It's not about the recipe.
