The Wife thinks I'm insane, but a bowl of stew and a couple of slices of bread, or some tortilla soup with…..tortillas, makes a fine lunch. I made a small pot of cream of poblano soup this morning, and it will make several lunches with a couple of warm corn tortillas in the coming week

We had gumbo all-year when I was growing up in Beaumont. Outside of gumbo (or chicken noodle soup when ill) I've never been much of a liquids for food kind of person.

I eat soup like 3 times a year.

Not really sure why not more, but just not something I eat much of.

I'll often make a big pot of gumbo or stew and eat it all week. In fact, I think I'll make pot of gumbo today.

I made fresh salmon chowder last week and had it for leftovers throughout the week.
Also going to make chicken pot pie (I guess not a soup or stew; but cold weather meal) when I get home from my work trip Friday.

We love some gazpacho in the summer or even my cold turkey chili which has zero grease because I make it with olive oil and freeze it.

Which is chicken and dumplings?

Most people I know who've been to prison prefer the soups from the canteen over the slop in the chow hall.

Ultimately a bowl of soup or stew and the accompaniments works out for reasonably healthy

I can eat soup any time of year and often do.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. There's still plenty of meat on that bone. Now you take this home, throw it in a pot, add some broth, a potato. Baby, you've got a stew going.

Sounds like you might oughta seek out a better class of associates.

I can tolerate stew or a very thick soup 3 or 4 times a month. Watery soups 3 or 4 times a year.

Soup is usually easy to make, and you can scale it up pretty easily. Plus it freezes and keeps well and is usually pretty budget friendly.

We have soup almost every week, especially if you count things like stroganoff or paprikash that basically cook and portion and freeze like a soup and all you have to do is cook some noodles when you defrost it.

I've never understood how people can drink coffee all year round yet say soup shouldn't be consumed in the warmer months.
