"Wine grapes from Texas will soon join worms, human sperm, and cookie dough on a growing list of Earth objects sent to space. Hundreds of grape seeds will spend about six months being exposed to cosmic radiation on the International Space Station (ISS). The seeds will then return to Earth for planting. They might even be turned into wine.

This experiment is part of the Texas A&M/Aegis Aerospace Multi-Use Space Platform Integrating Research and Innovative Technology (TAMU-SPIRIT) research mission. The project is designed to serve as a "satellite campus in space," that will host several experiments."

I've been saying for years that if I had Elon levels of money I'd make the world's most expensive and exclusive gin by flying a rocket to skim the atmosphere of a far away planet, open a hatch to expose some berries to said atmosphere, and then have the rocket circle back to Earth. It'd be called something innocuous like "Gin X" and be made exclusively with Jupiter Juniper Berries.

Glad to see we're starting off small with Space Wine and working our way up!

Would you drink a glass of Space Wine?
