I am finally going to complete one of my dreams by writing a screenplay. I have made several drafts and outlines but have never completed a final draft due to laziness, lack of interest, etc.... I know the odds of getting one sold are slim, but, whether I ever sell one or not, I want to at least be able to look in the mirror and say I gave it my best shot.

I've been looking at several different screenwriting programs online and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for particular programs either you have used or have heard are good.

Final Draft is pretty much the industry standard. Version 8 comes out in May if you can wait that long.

Movie Magic Screenwriter 6 or Final Draft.

Also look at Celtx. Its free.

final draft is a very small program and very easy to use. it's also easy to fine at a "discounted" *wink* price, if you know where to look for it. *cough* torrent *cough*

You could try RoughDraft. It's freeware that may suit your needs.

http://www.downloads.com has a free program called Sophocles. It's easy to use. Now if I could download the self-discipline to actually work on the thing...

i read somewhere if you buy final draft 7 you get the upgrade to 8 free in may

I have used Microsoft word and incorporated my own macros for the appropriate indentations. Works just fine.
